Senior Accountant

About the Role

TalentHive is seeking experienced Senior Accountants to strengthen the Finance function of a well-established and diversified Saudi group. This full-time position is based in Dammam, Eastern region, and is part of a wider growth and transformation program. The role requires technically strong, hands-on accountants who can demonstrate genuine ownership of General Ledger and month-end accounting processes.

Role Context and Focus

This is not a transactional accounting position. We are looking for candidates who possess a deep understanding of the accounting treatment behind transactions. The Senior Accountant will be expected to confidently explain and independently manage journals, accruals, reconciliations, and period-end adjustments, alongside specialist experience in areas such as Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Take hands-on responsibility for General Ledger accounting and month-end close.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries.
• Perform and review balance-sheet and GL reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Ensure costs and revenues are recognized in the correct accounting period.
• Support accounting activities across multiple sites, branches, or business units.
• Take specialist responsibility across areas such as AR, Fixed Assets, Inventory, and/or other GL accounts.
• Manage asset accounting including capitalization, depreciation, CWIP, transfers, and disposals where applicable.
• Support inventory accounting including reconciliations, valuation, provisions, slow-moving/obsolete stock, and adjustments.
• Support AR accounting including invoicing, aging, collections, reconciliations, provisions, and month-end close where applicable.
• Maintain strong financial controls, supporting schedules, and audit-ready documentation.
• Work closely with Operations, Procurement, Projects, Stores, and other Finance teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in a relevant accounting role.
• Demonstrated ability to deal with complex accounting situations and explain the rationale behind applied accounting treatments.
• Experience in areas such as CWIP/project accounting, asset capitalization, borrowing costs, inventory provisions, revenue/cost recognition, accruals, and period-end adjustments is highly valued.
• Strong technical accounting capability.
• Experience operating across a complex, multi-site, or multi-business environment.
• Specific industry experience is not essential.
