Senior Control and Protection Engineer Generators

About the Role

Siemens Energy is seeking a Senior Control and Protection Engineer Generators to join its team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on ensuring the reliable and safe operation of generator control systems and other rotating machinery at customer sites.

Role Context

The successful candidate will serve as a primary technical liaison between customers and internal teams. This involves providing specialized technical expertise, coordinating support, and upholding high standards of professionalism and service across a range of power generation products.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, modify, and troubleshoot generator control and protection systems, adhering to OEM standards and quality requirements.
• Lead and supervise technical teams during installation, maintenance, and system modification activities.
• Interpret P&IDs and control schematics, conduct root cause analysis, and support the resolution of complex technical issues.
• Communicate project progress, prepare comprehensive technical reports, recommend necessary spare parts, and collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and identify service opportunities.
• Maintain the highest EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) and zero-harm standards in all operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated expertise in generator control systems and rotating machinery.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and control schematics.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis for technical issues.
• Strong communication skills for reporting and stakeholder collaboration.

Work Environment and Travel

This role requires significant flexibility and adaptability. The engineer must be willing and able to travel extensively, up to 80% domestically and internationally, often working in challenging environments. Support for day/night, weekend, and holiday operations may be required. A valid driver's license is essential.
