This full-time position is central to leading and delivering assigned projects, encompassing the entire project lifecycle from initiation to close-out. The role requires comprehensive management of project elements, including risks, commercial aspects, timelines, and resources.

The Senior MEP Project Manager is directly responsible for the successful delivery and leadership of assigned projects. This involves reviewing handover documentation from the Tender Team, project kick-off, meticulous planning, execution, control, monitoring, and closing out projects. A core aspect of the role is the proactive management of project risks, opportunities, commercial considerations, timelines, resources, and the overall scope. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact between JEG Senior Management, the Client, Consultants, and the JEG Project Delivery Team, ensuring all defined project objectives and goals are achieved.

Core Project Management Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Regional Projects Director.
  • Critique tender documentation and pre-construction project handover documentation, identifying project risks and opportunities with Project Leads.
  • Manage the execution of all project milestones and deliverables, establishing and monitoring program and project controls KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan in accordance with JEG organizational SOPs and Project Director agreements.
  • Provide leadership and actively manage project team resources within project confines, identifying any deficiencies to the Project Director.
  • Manage detailed project planning documentation, including Execution Plans, Risk Management Logs, Status Reports, Schedule Reports, and Progress Reports, in conjunction with the Project Controls Engineer and adhering to Regional JEG Standardized Reporting Template formats.
  • Actively manage, communicate, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Chair internal meetings as required (typically weekly) with the JEG Project Leadership Team to discuss key project issues, implement corrective actions, and ensure minutes of meetings are recorded.
  • Organize Inter-Departmental workshops and team meetings when necessary to ensure alignment of project deliverables and timeframes across departments such as Engineering, HSE, Procurement, and HR.

Commercial and Stakeholder Management

  • Manage the expectations of project leadership and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as the primary day-to-day liaison to the client project leadership teams and project execution partners.
  • Identify and resolve disputes quickly and reasonably with Project Stakeholders.
  • Manage detailed Project Budget Reports, detailing Preliminaries, Procurement, indirect and direct staff, Subcontractors, and overheads/cost forecasts, in conjunction with the QS/Project Controls Engineer and with consultation of the Project Director and Commercial Director.
  • Establish a mechanism for collaborative problem-solving with the site delivery team, involving regular dialogue with contractors, team working, and risk-sharing. Ensure all issues are recorded, and resolution actions are tracked and closed in coordination with the Project Controls Lead.
  • Oversee the award of subcontracts in coordination with the MEP Manager and Commercial Director to ensure all scope of works are identified, minimizing subcontractor change requests due to scope gaps, and aligning contractual conditions with JEG regional policies.
  • Accurately check and sign-off on all payment certificates and invoices in coordination with the QS and Commercial Director (as applicable).
  • Manage project scope and change management, escalating issues where necessary to the Regional Project Director and Commercial Director.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings as requested or defined in the Project Execution Plan.

Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all departments comply with all standard JEG SOPs.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are provided in coordination with the HSE Manager and comply with JEG HSE requirements and authorities’ regulations. Ensure regular audits are carried out for EHS compliance, and any remedial actions are implemented in coordination with the HSE Manager.
  • Oversee the project QA/QC audit program in coordination with the QA/QC Manager/Lead and ensure all remedial actions are implemented to maintain project compliance with SOPs.
