Role Overview

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) is seeking a full-time Adult Intensivist - Cardiac ICU to provide specialized clinical services to critically ill patients in Dhahran. This role is a staff position within the Specialty Medicine Department, focusing on clinical care and consultative services for patients with complex medical and/or surgical disorders, specifically within the Cardiac ICU setting. The Intensivist reports directly to the Chief of the Division of Specialty Medicine and engages daily with patients, families, and a diverse team of healthcare professionals.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered care and consultations to inpatients and outpatients within the area of critical care expertise.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in adherence to the highest standards of care and within approved delineation of privileges.
• Complete all medical documentation and reports in a timely and professional manner.
• Develop collegial relationships and collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, allied health providers, and administrators across JHAH departments and districts.
• Actively participate as a member of multi-disciplinary teams, demonstrating strong teamwork.
• Share in on-call responsibilities as required by operational needs.
• Respond promptly to emergency requests for assistance from emergency rooms across all JHAH facilities.
• Actively participate in monthly Unit, Division, Department, and Hospital staff, clinical, education, and research meetings.
• Contribute to the educational activities of the Division, including attending Grand Rounds and Journal Clubs, and fostering the professional development of trainees and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary, interdepartmental, and performance and quality improvement activities, including committee service within JHAH.
• Respond promptly to all JHAH queries concerning medical documentation, coding, patient concerns, or risk management.

Education and Certifications

• Graduation from an approved medical school.
• Completion of one year of internship in a recognized training program.
• Residency certified training in Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, or Emergency from a recognized training program.
• Completion of fellowship training in critical care medicine from a recognized training program.
• For the UK system: At least two years of registrar jobs in critical medicine following qualifications in Internal Medicine or Anesthesia, and at least one year of registrar job in an intensive care unit.
• Possession of a valid license to practice medicine.
• American/Canadian Board certification or equivalent.

Professional Experience

• A minimum of three (3) years of practice in the field of critical care, with proven expertise in this discipline.
