Job Description

About the Role

Dhahran Techno Valley is seeking an IT Specialist to manage and support the organization's technology infrastructure. This full-time role is based in Dhahran, Eastern region, and requires a versatile and proactive professional with broad expertise across various IT domains. The specialist will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of IT systems while providing technical support to employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and firewall infrastructure, including monitoring network performance and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
  • Administer Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Oracle Fusion ERP System.
  • Manage virtualization platforms (*, VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud environments (*, Azure, AWS, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365).
  • Provide first- and second-line technical support through a helpdesk/ticketing system, troubleshooting hardware, software, printer, and peripheral issues.
  • Implement and maintain endpoint protection, antivirus, and anti-malware solutions, monitoring systems for security incidents and responding to threats.
  • Maintain inventory of hardware, software licenses, and IT assets, managing procurement and lifecycle of IT equipment.
  • Participate in IT infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and rollouts, recommending and implementing improvements to systems, processes, and tools.

Networking Duties

  • Manage switches, routers, access points, and network security devices.
  • Maintain network documentation, IP address schemes, and topology diagrams.
  • Implement and enforce network security best practices (VLANs, ACLs, segmentation).

Systems Administration Duties

  • Perform regular system updates, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Monitor server performance, storage capacity, and backup systems.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control across systems.
  • Ensure business continuity through backup, disaster recovery, and failover planning.

End-User Support and Security

  • Set up and configure workstations, laptops, and mobile devices for new hires.
  • Manage software installations, licensing, and updates, and deliver basic IT training.
  • Enforce IT security policies, password policies, and data protection standards.
  • Support compliance efforts related to data privacy and industry regulations, and conduct security awareness activities.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in IT support and administration. The role requires a professional who can maintain vendor relationships, coordinate with external IT service providers, and document IT processes and system configurations. The ideal candidate will stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
