About the Role

APEX Resources is seeking a QC Inspector (Welding NDT etc) for a contract position based in Jizan, Saudi Arabia. This role is essential for ensuring that all materials, equipment, and construction activities consistently meet industry standards, project specifications, relevant codes, and regulatory requirements. The primary objective is to identify defects, prevent non-conformance, and uphold high-quality standards throughout project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, monitor, and verify quality at every stage of project activities to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance.
  • Enforce Quality Assurance by ensuring all project activities adhere to specified quality standards.
  • Check materials, welding, piping, instrumentation, and construction work for compliance with design specifications, raising and resolving any quality issues.
  • Conduct routine inspections of on-site construction and installation activities.
  • Monitor contractors’ work to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
  • Inspect incoming equipment, pipes, valves, components, tools, and spares.
  • Inspect welding, piping fabrication, and structural work for defects.
  • Ensure proper welding procedures, techniques, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) are applied.
  • Identify potential quality issues proactively to prevent escalation into major problems.

Compliance and Testing

  • Ensure all activities comply with local Saudi Aramco standards and international standards such as API, ASTM, ASME, ISO, or any other applicable regulations.
  • Perform or witness various tests, including hydrostatic, pneumatic, and radiographic examinations.
  • Ensure that all inspection activities strictly follow Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain preservation records, detailed inspection records, and report any deviations.
  • Maintain daily reports, inspection logs, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Attend department audits, both internal and external.
  • Witness a minimum of 30% of planned Preventive Maintenance (PM) execution.
  • Review the task list for any changes and propose them to the Maintenance Engineer for approval.
  • Verify material certificates and ensure full compliance with project specifications.
  • Maintain Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) or welder performance records.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in quality control, particularly with expertise in welding, NDT, and general construction inspection. A strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory compliance is required.

Work Setting
