About Makkah Water Safa and the Role

Makkah Water Safa is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join its team. This full-time, on-site position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s accounts payable and supplier accounting activities.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the accurate and timely processing, recording, and settlement of all supplier transactions. This includes adherence to company policies, approved procedures, and all applicable accounting and tax requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, review, verify, and record supplier invoices, ensuring all required documentation and approvals are in place before processing.
• Match invoices with corresponding purchase orders and goods receipt notes.
• Prepare payment requests and manage payment schedules.
• Process supplier payments and transfers efficiently.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier accounts within the accounting system.
• Perform regular reconciliations of supplier accounts and statements to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve any identified discrepancies, following up on outstanding invoices and credit notes.
• Ensure that supplier balances are accurately reflected in the company's accounting system.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Warehouse, and other relevant departments to verify the receipt of goods and services, resolve invoice issues, and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities through the preparation of accruals, account reconciliations, and necessary journal entries.
• Maintain organized and confidential records related to accounts payable.
• Provide support for internal and external audits.
• Assist with VAT and other applicable tax requirements.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounts payable processes and controls to enhance overall efficiency and accuracy.

Experience Requirements

Candidates for the Accounts Payable Accountant position should have 0-1 years of experience in a relevant accounting or finance capacity.

Work Environment and Type

This is an on-site, full-time role located in Jeddah, within the Makkah region of Saudi Arabia. The position requires active collaboration with various internal departments.
