Job Description
About the Role
Ericsson is seeking a Front Office RAN & Core Performance Monitoring Engineer to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and focuses on real-time monitoring, performance analysis, and service assurance within Radio Access Network (RAN) and Core Network environments.
Role Purpose and Context
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure optimal network performance and service availability. The engineer will be instrumental in monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), analyzing alarms and performance degradations, performing initial troubleshooting, and coordinating incident resolution. This position operates within a modern managed services environment, contributing to automation initiatives and AI-driven operational enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the health, performance, and availability of RAN and Core Network elements using operational monitoring platforms.
- Analyze network performance KPIs to identify service degradations, capacity issues, and abnormal trends.
- Perform first-level troubleshooting for alarms, performance degradations, and service-impacting events according to operational procedures.
- Correlate alarms, performance indicators, and customer impact for accurate incident assessment and prioritization.
- Escalate incidents to appropriate Back Office or vendor teams, providing complete technical analysis and troubleshooting evidence.
- Monitor SLA, MTTR, alarm aging, and other operational performance indicators to support service excellence.
- Coordinate with engineering, optimization, transmission, and field operations teams during incident resolution.
- Prepare operational reports, performance summaries, and trend analyses to support continuous service improvement.
- Support automation initiatives by utilizing dashboards, scripts, workflow tools, and AI-assisted operational processes.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend automation or process improvements to reduce manual operational effort.
- Maintain operational documentation, knowledge articles, and troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field, demonstrating proficiency in network performance monitoring, analysis, and first-level troubleshooting within RAN and Core Network environments. A strong understanding of KPIs, alarm management, and incident resolution processes is essential.
