About the Area Operations Manager – Cafes Role
WOODS Specialty Cafe & Roastery, a rapidly expanding Saudi specialty coffee brand, is seeking an Area Operations Manager – Cafes. This role is responsible for overseeing multiple cafe branches, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining product quality, enhancing customer experiences, and driving sales performance. The position is highly field-oriented, requiring a leader adept at managing people, standards, financial metrics, and daily execution with discipline and efficiency. This is a full-time position based in Jeddah and Makkah.
Role Objective and Responsibilities
The Area Operations Manager – Cafes will manage the performance of multiple branches within their assigned area, ensuring adherence to WOODS standards in quality, service, cleanliness, speed, team discipline, and sales. This involves a hands-on approach, including regular branch visits to observe operations, identify areas for improvement, coach teams, and ensure effective implementation of corrective actions. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily branch operations and ensuring compliance with company SOPs, standards, and policies.
- Monitoring branch readiness, including cleanliness, organization, equipment, staffing, and stock levels.
- Conducting field visits to document observations and develop improvement plans.
- Ensuring consistent product quality for coffee, beverages, and food items.
- Monitoring and addressing customer feedback to improve service and experience.
- Leading and developing branch managers and operational teams.
- Monitoring sales performance and implementing strategies to improve key sales drivers.
- Managing inventory, controlling waste, and ensuring cost efficiency.
- Preparing performance reports and recommending operational improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates for this role should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in cafe, restaurant, hospitality, or F&B operations. Previous experience managing multiple branches is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong field leadership, operational follow-up skills, and a solid understanding of key performance indicators related to sales, service, quality, inventory, waste, and people management. Problem-solving, decision-making, and crisis management skills are crucial. The ability to work under pressure and travel frequently between branches is required. Experience with POS systems and performance reporting is necessary. Strong communication skills in both Arabic and English are expected. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
