Role Purpose

The AV Technician is responsible for the installation, setup, operation, and maintenance of all audio-visual equipment and systems. This position ensures high-quality sound and visuals for various events, presentations, and entertainment programs, directly supporting the operational needs of the hotel and enhancing guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all AV equipment is clean and properly maintained.
• Install, set up, and configure audio-visual equipment, including projectors, microphones, sound systems, lighting, video monitors, cameras, and video conferencing systems.
• Verify all equipment is properly connected and fully functional before events or presentations.
• Operate and control audio-visual systems during events, ensuring high-quality sound and visuals.
• Manage live audio mixing, video switching, and lighting during events.
• Perform routine maintenance on AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with AV systems and equipment.
• Repair or arrange for the repair of faulty equipment.
• Provide technical support to event organizers, presenters, and users of AV equipment.
• Assist with setup and operation during live events to ensure smooth delivery.
• Collaborate with event coordinators, IT teams, and other stakeholders to meet specific event needs.
• Work with team members to manage and monitor the inventory of AV equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
• Document setup configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Maintain full awareness of recreation facilities, evening programs, and shows, including their technical concepts and requirements.
• Manage bands or performers during sound checks, stage setup, and coordination of singer or performer riders.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in audio-visual technical support, preferably within a hospitality or event-driven environment.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, event-driven hospitality environment while meeting operational timelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays in line with operational requirements and event schedules.
