About the Role

Shangri-La Jeddah, located on the new Jeddah Waterfront along the Red Sea, is seeking a Chef De Partie to join its culinary team. This full-time position requires a professional dedicated to maintaining high standards in food preparation and service within their assigned kitchen area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold the Shangri-La Philosophy by delivering high-quality service to guests and colleagues, maintaining a positive attitude and strong team spirit.
  • Coordinate detailed aspects of restaurant, banquet, or food production operations, including specific duties for supervised employees.
  • Continuously monitor the freshness, presentation, and temperature of all food served.
  • Ensure proper control over food portioning, serving, and requisitions from stores.
  • Manage correct timing during service to guarantee food is always served to the highest standards.
  • Consistently check the quality of prepared food for taste and temperature.
  • Enforce a uniform visual appearance for all dishes, ensuring presentation and garnish meet established standards.
  • Monitor and fully implement portion control as defined by recipe cards and butcher tests to minimize waste and spoilage.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar culinary role.
  • Proficiency in English.

Required Attributes

  • A positive attitude and a demonstrated willingness to learn.
  • The ability to display initiative and creativity in culinary tasks.

Work Location and Type

This full-time position is based at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jeddah.
