About the Service Associate - Reservation Agent Role

Shangri-La Hotel in Jeddah is seeking a Service Associate - Reservation Agent to join their team. This full-time position involves providing a high level of service to guests, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maximizing booking opportunities. The role requires a proactive approach to understanding and promoting the hotel's offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the hotel's room products, including layout, features, benefits, and amenities, to effectively present different room types and meet specific guest needs.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the hotel's rate structure, including public rate offers, and articulate the value proposition of these offers during the sales process.
  • Be well-informed about all hotel facilities and services, and actively promote them to potential bookers.
  • Stay updated on any changes or new developments within the hotel's product offerings.
  • Handle incoming reservation requests and correspondence, confirming or declining bookings based on Availability, Rates, and Inventory (ARI) strategy, and provide timely responses.
  • Manage telephone sales and process reservations for all Food and Beverage outlets.
  • Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience in a hotel environment.
  • Previous experience in a Reservations environment is considered a plus.
  • A collegiate-level degree is required.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
  • A professional telephone manner and strong communication skills.
  • Good administration and organizational abilities.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively with other departments to meet customer needs.
  • A team player mentality.

Work Schedule and Flexibility

The role requires the ability to work long hours and adapt to different shifts. Flexibility in covering shifts is essential for this position.
