About the Role

Shangri-La Hotel in Jeddah is seeking a Service Associate - Reservation Agent to join their team. This full-time position is ideal for individuals with 0-1 year of experience looking to begin their career in the hospitality industry.

Role Overview

The Reservation Agent is responsible for delivering a high level of service to ensure customer satisfaction while maximizing booking opportunities. This role involves managing telephone sales and processing reservations for all Food and Beverage outlets, in addition to performing other duties as assigned by management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the hotel's room products, including layout, features, benefits, and amenities, to effectively match room types to guest requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the hotel's rate structure and current offers, highlighting the value proposition during the sales process.
  • Be well-informed about the hotel's facilities and services, actively promoting them to potential bookers.
  • Stay updated on any changes or new developments within the hotel's offerings.
  • Uphold the Shangri-La philosophy by providing quality service with a positive demeanor and fostering team spirit.
  • Handle incoming reservation requests and correspondence, confirming or declining based on availability, rates, and inventory (ARI) strategy, ensuring prompt responses.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience in a hotel environment.
  • Ability to work extended hours and adapt to various shifts.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
  • Professional telephone etiquette and strong communication skills.
  • Good administration and organizational abilities.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Possession of a collegiate-level degree.
  • Flexibility to cover different shifts as needed.
  • Previous experience in a Reservations department is considered an advantage.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments to meet customer needs.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jeddah. The role requires working with various departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
