About the Role
The Luxury Collection is seeking a Director of Finance (Dir Finance A) to lead financial operations in Makkah, specifically serving Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time position requires a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience to manage and execute the hotel's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with brand standards and maximizing investment returns.
Role Overview and Strategic Responsibilities
This role is pivotal in developing and implementing the hotel's financial management strategy. The Director of Finance will be responsible for creating and executing business plans that align with hotel and brand objectives, focusing on achieving desired financial performance. This includes developing high-profit strategies, estimating costs, generating revenue, and identifying new business opportunities. A key aspect of the role involves analyzing financial data, forecasting sales and expenses, and creating comprehensive annual budget plans. The position requires the ability to deconstruct information into its core components, identify basic principles, and generate practical ideas for new business plans. Furthermore, the role involves providing analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost savings and efficiency opportunities, implementing systematic controls to manage business risks, and ensuring strong accounting and operational controls to protect assets and enhance profitability.
Financial Management and Reporting
The Director of Finance will ensure the accurate recording of profits and losses, monitor all applicable tax items, and ensure timely submission of reports and compliance with payment deadlines. This includes developing and supporting performance, budget, and team targets, promoting operational department profit growth, reviewing audit issues for accuracy, and monitoring procurement processes. The role also involves generating and providing accurate and timely results in the form of reports and presentations, reconciling asset liabilities, ensuring profit and loss accuracy, and maintaining compliance with management agreements, reporting requirements, and standard operating procedures.
Leadership and Team Management
This position requires strong leadership and communication skills to guide, influence, and motivate the finance team and other department managers. The Director of Finance will clearly communicate strategic goals and priorities, influence the executive team and hotel strategy, and oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes. Responsibilities include assigning team members to appropriate departments with clear responsibilities, conducting annual performance evaluations, and ensuring team members receive cross-training to support daily operations. The role also involves developing employee performance evaluation processes and participating in recruitment activities.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
Effective communication with stakeholders is essential to understand priorities and strategic focus. The Director of Finance will work to understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders, including owners, the company, and guests. This includes providing consultative opinions on operational and financial issues to the General Manager and Executive Committee, communicating financial concepts clearly and persuasively to drive desired behavior, and demonstrating an understanding of cash flow and owner priorities. Managing hotel operating funds and cash flow in accordance with brand standards and owner requirements is also a key responsibility.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with at least 3 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Alternatively, a Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field with 1 year of relevant experience will be considered. A minimum of 10 years of overall experience is required for this role.
