Big Fish Consult is seeking an experienced Operations Director to lead significant operational functions within a dynamic environment. This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Role Summary

The Operations Director will be responsible for leading the end-to-end operations of a large-scale live destination or live holiday destination. The core objective is to ensure an exceptional visitor experience, operational efficiency, safety, optimal asset performance, and high-quality service delivery across all facets of the destination.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day operations across destination facilities, attractions, hospitality, public areas, and supporting infrastructure.
• Lead Facilities Management (FM), technical, engineering, maintenance, and operational service delivery.
• Establish and monitor operational standards, KPIs, SLAs, budgets, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all facilities, systems, utilities, and assets operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.
• Lead operational readiness, mobilisation, seasonal planning, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Manage and coordinate internal teams, contractors, operators, and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, regulatory, quality, and operational standards.
• Drive a seamless, high-quality visitor and guest experience across the destination.
• Provide senior leadership, operational reporting, risk management, and strategic recommendations to executive management.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in operations, facilities, engineering, or technical management.
• Proven senior leadership experience within a live destination, holiday destination, resort, theme park, entertainment destination, or hospitality destination.
• Strong Facilities Management (FM), technical, and engineering background with hands-on operational leadership.
• Experience managing complex, multi-asset environments and large operational teams.
• Strong understanding of maintenance, facilities, utilities, infrastructure, HSE, contractors, and service delivery.

Skills and Attributes

• Demonstrated experience in operational readiness, mobilisation, or opening/live operations is highly desirable.
• Strong commercial acumen, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.
• Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is preferred.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The salary for this role will be discussed directly with qualified candidates.
