About the Production Manager (Frozen) Role

Saudia Dairy & Foodstuff Company (SADAFCO) is seeking a Production Manager for its Frozen division. This full-time position is based in Makkah, with responsibilities spanning operations in Jeddah and Makkah. The role requires a seasoned professional with 5-10 years of relevant experience to lead and optimize all production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize all production aspects, from mixing and processing to filling and palletizing, ensuring adherence to SADAFCO standards and international best practices for cost-effective and efficient output.
• Implement the approved production strategy to align with factory and overall business objectives.
• Plan all production activities to meet factory production plans within specified time and budget targets.
• Identify production process bottlenecks, report them, and ensure their resolution using established problem-solving methodologies with the production team.
• Regularly analyze production performance data to identify development opportunities, trends, and improvements, communicating findings internally using visual management standards.
• Drive continuous improvement by facilitating and executing appropriate methodologies aligned with Continuous Improvement principles.
• Audit and monitor the operating system (SOS), leading Continuous Improvement and Lean activities.
• Strictly enforce company product quality rules and ensure staff adherence to all parameters.

People and Quality Management

• Recruit and select appropriate staff in accordance with company policies.
• Develop team skills through assessment, training, and feedback, managing performance and identifying development potential.
• Lead the production team to foster engagement and high performance, emphasizing problem-solving and teamwork.
• Manage labor availability and efficient utilization according to the production plan.
• Oversee quality control according to company standards, making necessary adjustments and rejecting non-conforming products.
• Implement corrective actions to achieve first-time-right quality at all levels.

Health, Safety, and Financial Oversight

• Ensure safe operating practices by enforcing all Health and Safety policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate correct safety behaviors personally.
• Review accident and near-miss investigation reports, assessing corrective actions taken.
• Participate in safety and quality audits, documenting non-conformances and taking responsibility for action plans.
• Perform regular shift audits and monitor performance.
• Ensure risk assessments are completed and actioned as per policy.
• Foster a culture of behavioral awareness to reduce accidents and near misses.
• Manage and own total conversion costs within the production department, focusing on standardization of systems and operational activities.
• Apply Continuous Improvement principles to optimize costs.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Food Science/Technology or a similar field.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in a similar production management role.
• Experience within the dairy manufacturing industry or a comparable sector is required.
• Proficiency in Lean processes and problem-solving techniques.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of dairy manufacturing processes.
• Proven leadership and influencing abilities at all organizational levels.
• Ability to work effectively within multicultural and multinational teams.
• Capacity to manage stress in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to take on additional responsibilities.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) is essential. Knowledge of Arabic is considered a plus.

Required Competencies

• Strong time management skills.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
• Good reporting and presentation skills.
• Excellent MS Office proficiency and advanced ERP experience.
