About the Project Engineer Role

Atlas Copco is seeking a Project Engineer to join its Machine Vision and Surface Inspection Solutions business in Jeddah. This full-time role involves managing the successful execution and delivery of customer projects, from initial requirements analysis and solution design through installation, commissioning, and handover. The Project Engineer will collaborate with customers, sales teams, engineering specialists, and service personnel to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards. This position contributes to inspection and automation technologies across various industrial sectors.

Core Responsibilities

• Manage the execution of Machine Vision and Surface Inspection projects throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation to final acceptance.
• Analyze customer manufacturing, assembly, and inspection processes to understand technical requirements and project objectives.
• Develop application concepts and propose tailored inspection and automation solutions that meet customer needs.
• Conduct feasibility studies, application testing, and proof-of-concept (POC) evaluations to validate proposed solutions.
• Coordinate project activities with customers, suppliers, internal engineering teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Design, configure, and optimize vision systems, including cameras, optics, lighting, software, and automation interfaces.
• Prepare project documentation, technical specifications, layouts, schedules, and progress reports.
• Oversee system installation, commissioning, calibration, testing, and validation activities at customer sites.
• Identify, track, and mitigate project risks while ensuring adherence to project timelines and deliverables.
• Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and customer sign-off processes.
• Provide technical guidance and support during project implementation and resolve technical issues through effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Deliver customer training on system operation, maintenance, and best practices.
• Collaborate with Sales and Business Development teams during pre-sales activities, technical discussions, and customer presentations when required.
• Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and project management standards.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and contribute to achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 2-5 years of experience in Project Engineering, Application Engineering, Industrial Automation, Machine Vision, Inspection Systems, or related fields.
• Experience managing technical projects within manufacturing or industrial automation environments.
• Strong understanding of industrial production processes, quality inspection systems, and automation technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Machine Vision solutions, including cameras, optics, lighting systems, sensors, and vision software.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel regionally and internationally as required to support project activities.

Work Location and Arrangement
