Safety Officer

About the Role

NSH – Gulf Asia is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to ensure rigorous compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards. This full-time position is based in the Makkah region, specifically covering project sites in Jeddah and Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with a focus on oil & gas projects.

Role Overview

The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring HSE policies and procedures across project sites. This role involves conducting regular inspections, risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to both client safety standards and applicable Saudi regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and site safety plans.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with client safety standards and applicable Saudi regulations.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training sessions.
• Monitor high-risk activities, including working at height, lifting operations, hot work, confined space entry, and excavation.
• Ensure proper implementation of Permit to Work (PTW), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain HSE documentation, inspection reports, and incident records.
• Coordinate with site management, supervisors, and client HSE representatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably within the oil & gas sector.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HSE standards, policies, and procedures.
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian safety regulations and client-specific safety requirements.

Work Environment

This role is full-time and requires presence at oil & gas project sites within the Makkah region, specifically in Jeddah and Makkah. The position involves working closely with various site teams and client representatives to uphold safety standards.
