About the Role

Halian is seeking an experienced Field Service Representative (FSR) to provide on-site technical support and maintenance for advanced naval sonar systems. This contract position is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and involves ensuring the operational readiness and performance of towed sonar equipment within a maritime defense environment. The role requires expertise in preventive and corrective maintenance, technical diagnostics, and engineering support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth fault diagnosis and root-cause analysis of complex sonar system issues, utilizing diagnostic software, test equipment, and maintenance documentation.
• Provide technical recommendations and support for system performance improvements.
• Execute planned preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and operational readiness, ensuring compliance with approved schedules and technical procedures.
• Perform corrective maintenance, including component replacement, repair, testing, and recommissioning of sonar equipment, restoring systems to full operational capability while adhering to technical and safety standards.
• Escalate complex technical issues requiring specialist engineering support.
• Assist with the development and execution of annual engineering support plans, and support technical investigations, reliability assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to address recurring system performance issues.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system defects, repairs, and technical interventions, producing regular maintenance reports and technical updates for stakeholders.
• Ensure all documentation remains current and aligned with quality management requirements.
• Support the management and control of maintenance inventory and spare parts, tracking consumption, maintaining accurate records, and identifying critical spare requirements.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations, promoting a strong safety culture.
• Act as a key technical interface between operational personnel, engineering teams, and maintenance management, building effective working relationships in a multicultural environment.

Technical Expertise

The successful candidate will possess strong technical skills in maintaining and troubleshooting advanced naval sonar systems. This includes proficiency in diagnostic software, test equipment, and the ability to interpret complex maintenance documentation. The role requires a methodical approach to fault diagnosis and a commitment to restoring systems to full operational capability.

Operational Compliance and Safety

Adherence to technical and safety standards is paramount. The Field Service Representative will ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with approved schedules, technical procedures, company policies, and site-specific health, safety, and environmental requirements. Support for audits, inspections, and compliance reviews will also be required.

Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting

This position involves significant interaction with operational personnel, engineering teams, and maintenance management. The FSR will maintain accurate records of all technical interventions, produce regular maintenance reports, and provide technical updates to management and customer stakeholders. Professional technical support and high levels of customer satisfaction are expected.

Work Environment and Travel

This role is primarily based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Occasional travel or deployment may be required based on operational needs. The Field Service Representative will operate within a maritime defense environment, requiring adaptability and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multidisciplinary setting.
