Job Description
About the Role
King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Jeddah is seeking a Staff Nurse I. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive nursing care, utilizing the nursing process, and adhering to established standards of nursing practice and performance. The role also requires demonstrating leadership competencies when in charge or acting as a shift resource or team leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide total patient care as assigned, following core standards of patient care and established evidence-based practices.
- Assume accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, including discharge planning.
- Contribute to decreasing length of stay and waiting times in line with unit-specific goals, collaborating with Case Management.
- Document all relevant information correctly, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
- Report equipment failures, safety and security issues, and supply inventory reductions to the Head Nurse or designee.
- Demonstrate collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships to achieve continuous improvement in quality patient care.
- Act as an advocate for patients and families, identifying ideas for improving patient care quality and issues that may negatively affect outcomes.
- Promote a safe environment and safe patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying areas of risk.
- Comply with policies for personal and patient safety and for the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.
- Contribute to cost efficiency savings on the unit and maintain awareness of resource utilization.
- Contribute to the achievement of clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction, leading unit-based Performance Improvement activities as assigned.
- Participate in new staff and nursing student orientation, acting as a preceptor or mentor to develop competence.
- Demonstrate transcultural principles in nursing practice.
- Contribute to special projects and assignments linked to nursing strategic priorities and the professional practice model.
- Assist in promoting and sharing knowledge through mentorship, aligned with relevant research and evidence-based practice.
- Follow all Hospital-related policies and procedures.
- Participate in self and others' education, training, and development as applicable.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience is required for this position.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, offering an opportunity to contribute to patient care within a leading medical institution.
