STAFF NURSE I

About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Jeddah is seeking a Staff Nurse I. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive nursing care, utilizing the nursing process, and adhering to established standards of nursing practice and performance. The role requires demonstrating leadership competencies when in charge or acting as a shift resource or team leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide total patient care as assigned, following core standards of patient care and established evidence-based practices.
• Assume accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, including discharge planning for each patient.
• Contribute to decreasing length of stay and waiting times in line with unit-specific goals, collaborating with Case Management.
• Document all relevant information correctly, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
• Report equipment failures, safety and security issues, and reductions in supply inventory to the Head Nurse or designee.
• Demonstrate collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships to achieve continuous improvement in quality patient care.
• Act as an advocate for patients and families, identifying ideas for improving patient care quality and issues that could negatively affect patient care outcomes.
• Promote a safe environment and safe patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying areas of risk.
• Comply with policies for personal and patient safety and for the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.
• Contribute to cost efficiency savings on the unit, maintaining awareness of resource utilization.
• Contribute to achieving clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction, leading unit-based Performance Improvement activities as assigned.
• Participate in the orientation of new staff and nursing students, assisting in maintaining a suitable learning environment.
• Act as a preceptor or mentor in the supervision and teaching of nursing students and new staff.
• Demonstrate transcultural principles in nursing practice.
• Contribute to special projects and assignments linked to nursing strategic priorities and the professional practice model.
• Assist in promoting and sharing knowledge via mentorship in line with relevant research and evidence-based practice.
• Follow all Hospital-related policies and procedures.
• Participate in self and others' education, training, and development.

Experience Requirements

Candidates for the Staff Nurse I position should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in nursing.
