The Role
Grant Thornton Saudi Arabia is seeking an Assistant Manager Direct Tax & Zakat to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah. This full-time role involves managing client engagements related to Corporate Income Tax, Zakat, Withholding Tax, and associated matters. The Assistant Manager will deliver compliance, advisory, and tax controversy services in accordance with Saudi tax regulations and ZATCA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the preparation, review, and submission of Zakat, Corporate Income Tax, and Withholding Tax returns.
- Provide technical and practical advice on Saudi tax and Zakat matters.
- Advise clients on Saudi Income Tax and Zakat regulations, executive regulations, and ZATCA guidelines.
- Support business restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, group reorganizations, and cross-border transactions.
- Identify tax risks and assist clients in managing compliance obligations and implementing tax structures.
- Manage ZATCA audits, assessments, objections, appeals, and dispute-resolution matters.
- Prepare and review technical opinions, advisory memoranda, reports, correspondence, and client presentations.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and communicate their implications to clients and internal teams.
- Act as the primary day-to-day contact for key engagements, ensuring timely communication and service delivery.
- Build client relationships and identify opportunities for additional services.
- Support business development activities, including proposals, presentations, and thought-leadership materials.
- Manage, coach, and develop junior team members and review their work for accuracy and quality.
- Collaborate with Audit, VAT, Transfer Pricing, Advisory, and Legal teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Ensure compliance with the firm’s quality, ethical, and risk-management requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required for this position.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a professional services firm environment, collaborating with various internal teams and directly with clients.
