About the Role
SGS - Saudi Ground Services is seeking a Business Operations Digital Transformation Senior Manager to lead and execute the digital transformation agenda, directly supporting the company’s digital airport strategy. This part-time role, based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, focuses on aligning technology, processes, and people to achieve measurable outcomes for executive priorities and on-the-ground operations.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Translate CEO and executive priorities into a digital roadmap aligned with SGS’s Digital Airport strategy.
- Define future-state digital processes for ground handling operations, including turnaround, baggage, service capture/billing, rostering, and mobile workforce.
- Set measurable outcomes for key performance indicators such as on-time delivery percentage, adoption percentage, SLA uplift, turnaround time reduction, cost/productivity gains, and ROI.
- Develop and manage the vendor strategy, encompassing selection, guidance, and monitoring of technology partners to ensure Statements of Work (SOWs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and performance measures support accelerated delivery.
- Manage budget and resourcing by proposing operational digital transformation allocations, optimizing spend, and securing critical internal and external skills to mitigate delivery risks.
Operational Execution
- Oversee a light Project Management Office (PMO) framework within Operations Digital Transformation, including stage gates, risk and issue management, RAID logs, and benefits tracking, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture by defining standards for system integrations, APIs, and data across various platforms (*, Inform, EPG, SAP, DCS, WakeCap, IoT, AI/RPA).
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with operations, HR, finance, commercial, tech services, and airline partners to ensure alignment and effective delivery of initiatives.
- Lead change initiatives by sponsoring structured communication and training plans to drive adoption at stations, while fostering a digital-first culture.
- Drive end-to-end execution of airport digital initiatives from inception through design, build, testing, cutover, and hyper care to ensure seamless delivery.
- Manage integrations across Inform, EPG, SAP, DCS, WakeCap/IoT, mobility applications, and analytics to ensure data quality and real-time data flows.
- Conduct weekly executive stand-ups, resolve dependencies, and escalate vendor or internal delays with clear ownership and deadlines.
- Apply delivery standards including definition of done, test coverage, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sign-off, cybersecurity hardening, and operational readiness before go-live.
- Build dashboards for turnaround, baggage, resource utilization, and billing accuracy, utilizing insights to enhance processes.
- Provide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), administration guides, Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan (DR/BCP) steps, and support models, ensuring smooth transition of responsibilities.
- Measure post-go-live outcomes on efficiency, SLA, cost, and customer experience against the business case, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure releases comply with National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA), and General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) controls, pass security scans, and remain audit-ready with evidence.
- Capture lessons learned from each release and maintain a backlog of enhancements for rapid improvement cycles.
People Management
- Manage outsourced delivery teams by setting clear performance measures, ensuring compliance with SGS standards, and securing accountability on SLAs and KPIs.
- Drive effective collaboration between internal staff and outsourced resources to maintain seamless execution and knowledge transfer.
- Oversee vendor-managed employees’ onboarding, training, and day-to-day performance to ensure consistent service quality and cultural alignment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent field.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Location and Work Type
This is a part-time position located in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The salary for this role will be disclosed during the hiring process.
