About the Role

Leylaty Group is seeking a dedicated Commis Pastry to join their culinary team in Makkah, specifically serving the cities of Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time position is suitable for individuals with 0-1 years of experience looking to develop their skills in a professional pastry environment.

Role Overview

The Commis Pastry will support the Pastry Chef and kitchen team in the preparation, production, and presentation of a variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods. The role requires adherence to established recipes and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and production of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and other baked items following standard recipes.
• Prepare and organize ingredients (mise en place) for daily operational needs.
• Support the Pastry Chef with daily kitchen activities and production schedules.
• Ensure consistent product quality and presentation standards are met.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, equipment, and workstations.
• Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
• Properly store ingredients and finished products, following FIFO procedures.
• Minimize food waste and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
• Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and receiving deliveries as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastry Chef or Kitchen Management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A certificate or diploma in Culinary Arts or Pastry is preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in a pastry or bakery setting is considered an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, baking principles, and dessert preparation.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
