About the Role
The Luxury Collection is seeking a Director of Finance to join their team in Makkah, specifically serving the Jeddah and Makkah regions. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and plays a crucial role in the property's financial strategy and operations.
Strategic Financial Leadership
As the property's strategic financial business leader, this role champions and implements property-wide strategies to deliver products and services that meet or exceed brand and customer expectations. The position provides essential financial expertise to support the successful execution of brand initiatives and maximize return on investment. A key responsibility is creating and executing a business plan aligned with the property and brand's strategic direction, focusing on financial activities and achieving desired financial results.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategies to improve profit, including cost-benefit analysis and exploration of new business opportunities.
- Analyze financial information, forecast sales against expenses, and create annual budget plans.
- Compile, analyze, and monitor actual sales against projected sales, and analyze budget wage variances for planning.
- Identify underlying principles and reasons within data by breaking down information.
- Develop and implement new business plans creatively and practically.
- Create the annual operating budget for the property and provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities.
- Implement appropriate controls to manage business risks and ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets and improve profitability.
- Analyze financial data and market trends, and lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with company and brand strategy.
- Provide ongoing analytical support by monitoring operating department sales and producing accurate forecasts.
- Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others, advocating for sound financial decisions and leading by example.
- Communicate strategic goals and priorities clearly to subordinates.
- Leverage leadership and communication skills to influence the executive team and property strategies.
- Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
- Assign clear accountability and appropriate authority to team members and department managers.
- Conduct annual performance appraisals with direct reports.
- Attend meetings and communicate with owners, understanding their priorities and strategic focus.
- Advise the General Manager and executive committee on operating and financial issues.
- Communicate financial concepts clearly and persuasively to drive desired behaviors.
- Manage communication with owners effectively and manage property working capital and cash flow.
- Facilitate critique meetings to review information with the management team.
- Ensure accurate documentation of Profits and Losses and monitor applicable taxes.
- Submit reports in a timely manner and develop and support the achievement of performance goals.
- Improve profit growth in operating departments and review audit issues for accuracy.
- Generate and provide accurate and timely results in reports and presentations.
- Reconcile balance sheets and ensure P&L accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with management contracts, reporting requirements, and operating procedures.
- Ensure team members are cross-trained and that property policies are administered fairly.
- Ensure new hires participate in orientation and receive appropriate training.
- Create development plans for team members based on individual strengths and career aspirations.
- Participate in hiring activities as appropriate.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 3 years of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 1 year of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.
- Experience required: 2-5 years.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position located in Makkah, serving the cities of Jeddah and Makkah.
