About the External Account Manager Role

Brenntag Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced External Account Manager to join its chemical raw materials sales team. This full-time position is based in Jeddah, within the Makkah Region of Saudi Arabia. The role requires a professional with a strong background in chemical sales and a proven ability to manage client relationships and drive revenue growth.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The External Account Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to achieve sales growth and revenue targets within the coatings and construction chemicals market. This includes identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers, and providing technical sales support. The role also involves monitoring market trends, collaborating with client R&D and supply chain teams, preparing sales forecasts, and negotiating contracts and pricing.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet monthly and annual sales growth and revenue targets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with customers, manufacturers, and end-users.
  • Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with assigned clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Offer technical sales support, including product recommendations, formulation coordination, and troubleshooting.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adapt sales strategies.
  • Liaise with clients' R&D and supply chain departments to align sales efforts with business objectives.
  • Generate sales forecasts based on market intelligence, reports, and presentations for senior management.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and supply agreements with clients and suppliers.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and QSHE standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience. A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry is mandatory. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of sales experience specifically in chemical raw materials, with a focus on paints and coatings, adhesives, and demonstrable results in the construction chemicals industry within Jeddah and the western region. A strong understanding of resins, solvents, additives, pigments, and other raw materials used in these sectors is essential.

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of sales experience in chemical raw materials, particularly in paints, coatings, and adhesives.
  • Proven track record in the construction chemicals industry in Jeddah and the western region.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of resins, solvents, additives, pigments, and related raw materials.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets in the Saudi market, preferably in Jeddah and the western region.

Required Skills and Abilities

Successful candidates will exhibit excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills in both English and Arabic. The ability to travel within Saudi Arabia is also a requirement for this role.
