About the Role

Nahdi Medical Co. is seeking a Laboratory Technique Specialist to join their team in Makkah. This full-time position involves performing routine clinical laboratory tests across various disciplines, contributing to essential diagnostic processes. The specialist will develop fundamental laboratory skills crucial for entry-level roles in established and emerging laboratory fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive blood and body fluid samples at the laboratory reception and initiate pre-analytical processing.
  • Perform daily checks on equipment to ensure safety and correct operability.
  • Execute all analytical processes on hematology, biochemistry, serology, and hormone laboratory machines.
  • Conduct daily quality control tests on reagents.
  • Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells, utilizing microscopic techniques and procedures.
  • Prepare and examine urine and stool samples microscopically.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Conserve laboratory resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to achieve job results.
  • Inform medical staff of critical test results.
  • Prepare reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment by complying with established procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control and hazardous waste policies and procedures.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect the hospital by keeping information confidential.

Required Experience and Skills

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in a relevant laboratory setting. The role requires proficiency in performing routine clinical laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology, immunology, and coagulation. Basic laboratory skills for molecular diagnostics and other emerging fields are also beneficial.

Work Environment

This role is based entirely indoors (100%). The work schedule is 6 working days per week with 1 day off, totaling 8 net working hours per day, aligned with a shift schedule approved by the head of the department.
