The Role: Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator

CoorB is seeking a skilled Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join its team. This full-time position, based in the Makkah region (Jeddah or Makkah), requires a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in administering Microsoft SQL Server environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of mission-critical SQL Server databases.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances.
• Administer SQL Server environments across Development, Test, UAT, and Production stages.
• Design, implement, configure, and support SQL Server Failover Cluster Instances (FCI).
• Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Always On Availability Groups.
• Perform planned failover, disaster recovery testing, and high availability validation.
• Monitor SQL Server performance, availability, and capacity using monitoring tools.
• Manage database backup, restore, and disaster recovery using SQL Server native tools and maintenance strategies.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.
• Troubleshoot database, replication, clustering, and Always On-related issues.
• Implement database security, user management, encryption, auditing, and compliance controls.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, SQL Server Agent, or scripting tools.
• Support database migrations, upgrades, and version compatibility assessments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and support teams to resolve production issues.
• Prepare and maintain database architecture, operational procedures, and disaster recovery documentation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019, or 2022.
• Proven expertise in SQL Server Failover Cluster Instances (FCI).
• Strong experience implementing and supporting Always On Availability Groups.
• Experience with Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC).

Technical Skills and Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of SQL Server backup, restore, recovery, and maintenance strategies.
• Experience with database performance tuning, execution plans, indexing, and statistics.
• Strong T-SQL programming and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with SQL Server Agent, Database Mail, Maintenance Plans, SQL Profiler, and Extended Events.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting for SQL Server administration.
• Knowledge of database security, encryption, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), and auditing.
• Experience working on Windows Server environments.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position within a collaborative team environment, based in the Makkah region, specifically covering Jeddah and Makkah. The role requires a commitment to maintaining robust and secure database operations.
