Job Description
About the Role
ADFAR Tech is seeking an experienced Oracle Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and operate mission-critical applications and databases on the Oracle platform. This full-time position is based in the Makkah region, with opportunities in both Jeddah and Makkah. The successful candidate will own solutions end-to-end, from user interfaces and REST services to business logic, schema design, and database performance.
Role Overview
This hands-on role requires expertise across the Oracle stack, including APEX user interfaces, ORDS REST services, PL/SQL business logic, schema design, and database performance and administration. The Oracle Full Stack Engineer will serve as a primary expert for query tuning, ORA error diagnosis, and scaling new data models, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure system speed, reliability, and maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build Oracle APEX applications, including pages, components, interactive reports, forms, and responsive UIs.
- Develop, review, and maintain PL/SQL code (packages, procedures, functions, triggers), applying consistent coding standards and conducting peer code reviews.
- Design relational schemas and author DDL, including tables, constraints, indexes, views, and partitioning strategies for large datasets.
- Build and secure REST APIs using Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS), covering endpoint design, authentication, authorization, and access control.
- Tune SQL and PL/SQL for performance, analyzing execution plans, optimizing queries, and designing appropriate indexing and partitioning.
- Perform database administration tasks across development, test, and production environments, supporting availability, capacity, and routine maintenance.
- Diagnose and resolve database errors (ORA-NNNNN), tracing root causes and implementing durable fixes.
- Interpret performance diagnostics from AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports, translating findings into remediation and capacity-planning actions.
- Design and maintain partitioned schemas to support scalability, manageability, and efficient data lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with application developers, analysts, and operations engineers to deliver well-documented, supportable solutions; participate in design discussions and contribute to technical standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as an Oracle developer, database engineer, or equivalent full-stack Oracle role.
- Expert-level PL/SQL development skills, including packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and bulk processing.
- Strong SQL skills with proven experience in query optimization and interpreting execution plans.
- Hands-on experience building Oracle APEX applications, including pages, components, and UI development.
- Experience designing relational schemas and writing production DDL (tables, constraints, indexes, views).
- Demonstrated experience building and securing REST endpoints with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS).
- Practical database administration experience and the ability to diagnose and resolve ORA-NNNNN errors.
- Working knowledge of Oracle performance tooling (AWR, ADDM, ASH) and the ability to act on their findings.
- Experience designing partitioned tables and schemas for large-scale data.
- Solid understanding of database security, transaction management, and concurrency.
- Front-end skills (JavaScript, CSS) to extend and customize APEX applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) — Database Administrator or PL/SQL Developer — or equivalent Oracle certification.
- Experience with recent Oracle Database releases (19c, 21c, or 23ai) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or Autonomous Database.
- Familiarity with CI/CD for database changes and version control for schema and PL/SQL code (*, Liquibase, SQLcl, Git).
- Experience with high-availability and recovery features (RMAN, Data Guard, RAC).
- Experience integrating Oracle systems with external services and message-based architectures.
- Exposure to data warehousing, ETL, or large-volume batch processing.
Key Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with a methodical approach to diagnosing complex issues.
- Clear written and verbal communication; able to explain technical trade-offs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ownership mindset — seeing problems through from diagnosis to durable resolution.
- Collaborative team player who gives and receives constructive code review feedback.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality, documentation, and maintainability.
- Comfortable balancing priorities across development work and operational support.
Requirements
- No experience required
