About the Role

Ninja 🥷🏽 is seeking a Putaway Team Leader to manage the putaway team within its grocery distribution center. This full-time role is based in Makkah, specifically covering operations in Jeddah and Makkah. The primary responsibility is to ensure the safe, accurate, and timely movement of received goods from the receiving dock to their designated storage locations.

Key Responsibilities

The Putaway Team Leader will oversee forklift and reach truck operators, with a strong emphasis on safety protocols and operational efficiency. Responsibilities are divided into Safety & Compliance and Putaway Operations.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure all forklift/MHE operators possess valid and current licenses.
• Enforce PPE requirements and warehouse safety standards.
• Conduct daily pre-shift equipment checks and remove unsafe equipment from service immediately.
• Enforce warehouse traffic rules and maintain safe separation between pedestrians and MHE.
• Ensure safe stacking practices, load stability, adherence to height limits, and rack capacity.
• Inspect racking for damage and report issues promptly.
• Report, investigate, and document incidents and near-misses.
• Stop unsafe practices immediately and provide appropriate coaching or retraining.
• Maintain clean and obstruction-free aisles throughout the shift.

Putaway Operations

• Ensure accurate system entry of received goods, including item, quantity, batch, expiry, and location.
• Act as the final checkpoint before storage, identifying receiving errors and returning discrepancies to the Receiving team.
• Assign daily putaway tasks and balance workload based on inbound volume.
• Ensure goods move from the dock to storage location within the required target time.
• Confirm item, quantity, and storage location accuracy in the WMS.
• Apply storage requirements based on product type, temperature zone, FEFO, weight, and product movement.
• Handle damaged goods and discrepancies according to approved processes.
• Coordinate closely with Receiving and Inventory teams throughout the shift.
• Train new operators and coach the team on safety and productivity.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, and during peak seasons.
• Willingness to maintain a full-time presence on the warehouse floor.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position within a fast-growing grocery distribution center. The role requires consistent on-site presence to effectively lead the putaway team and ensure operational standards are met. Salary for this position will be disclosed during the interview process.
