About the Role

Chalhoub Group is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, specifically in Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience in accounting and offers the opportunity to contribute to a leading luxury retail group in the Middle East.

Role Overview

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accurate reconciliation of all employee and business unit accounts, ensuring adherence to established accounting policies, procedures, and international standards. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting activities with minimal supervision and providing support to junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.
• Manage and coordinate year-end closing processes for assigned accounting records.
• Provide technical accounting support and interpretation to business units.
• Reconcile all accounts and financial records for business units, ensuring no long outstanding items.
• Verify bank reconciliations are timely and adequate to prevent fraud or inaccuracies, and review monthly bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accounting and financial records for related business units and direct the installation and maintenance of accounting records.
• Support cash management, banking, vendor relationships, and ERP system implementation.
• Liaise with HR for financial and timely payment arrangements for monthly payroll.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary data, ensuring timely completion of audits.
• Interact with IT for system enhancements and improvements.
• Ensure accurate accounting and adequate internal control in cash collection and banking.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules.
• Provide comprehensive financial and accounting advice and reports to business unit managers.
• Prepare studies, reports, and interpretations for management decision-making.
• Enforce accounting standards during audits of billing, Inter-company payables, and receivables.
• Ensure all third-party customer and Intercompany accounts are fully reconciled.
• Oversee verification and reconciliation of third-party and Intercompany invoices and balances.
• Ensure statements of accounts are sent to customers monthly and oversee the resolution of outstanding items.
• Prepare "Budget vs. Actual" variance reports.
• Participate in cost analyses and rate studies.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in accounting.
• Fluent English proficiency.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
