About the Role

Siemens Energy is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for its Grid Technology division. This full-time position is based in Makkah, specifically covering Jeddah and Makkah, and requires 5-10 years of experience. The role involves managing legal matters and risks related to commercial, trade, and contract law within national and international business contexts for Siemens Energy’s Grid Technology Business in the Middle East.

Role Context and Impact

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will collaborate with colleagues across the Middle East and internationally, providing legal advice on large-scale contracts in project delivery, product areas, service agreements, and procurement. Your work will also extend to energy transmission and grid digitalization within the energy sector, covering both bidding and execution phases. You will be a trusted advisor to business leaders, ensuring legal integrity and supporting innovation within the Grid Technologies Business Area.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage legal matters and risks concerning general commercial, trade, and contract law for Siemens Energy’s Grid Technology Business in the Middle East.
• Analyze and comment on tenders, contracts, and related documents, providing proactive advice and participating in contract negotiations and strategy formulation.
• Ensure compliance with internal guidelines, processes, and external regulations.
• Support execution and claim management, including engaging and managing external law firms in dispute resolution proceedings.
• Contribute to the standardization and digitalization of contracts and process improvements, collaborating with the global Legal Counsel community.
• Develop and deliver training and education to key stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant legal experience.
• Demonstrated experience in contract negotiations, risk management, and resolving complex legal issues.
• Background in advising on large-scale contracts within project delivery, product areas, service agreements, and procurement.
• Experience in the energy transmission and grid digitalization sector is preferred.
