About Rotana Hotels
Rotana Hotels is seeking a Sous Chef to join its culinary team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is for a dedicated kitchen professional who prioritizes delivering high standards of customer service and innovative culinary solutions for guests.
The Role of a Sous Chef
As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of the main or outlet kitchen. This includes ensuring exceptional quality and presentation of all food items, adhering to standardized menu guidelines, and actively participating in the training and development of kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the main or outlet kitchen in the preparation and presentation of all food items, ensuring adherence to hotel Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and standardized menu guidelines.
- Monitor production standards regularly to maintain the highest level of quality in all dishes.
- Oversee all aspects related to the control of the hotel’s food cost.
- Contribute to the development of concept ideas and menus for special events and functions, encouraging team input and utilizing practical suggestions.
- Ensure HACCP standards are consistently implemented and that appropriate hygiene standards, as per Municipality requirements, are followed at all times.
- Conduct consistent on-the-job training sessions for culinary colleagues and actively promote health and safety practices within the kitchen environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of a professional kitchen apprenticeship or a recognized chefs training course.
- A minimum of three years of experience in quality culinary establishments.
- Demonstrated excellent culinary skills.
- Proven knowledge in food preparation, presentation, and preservation techniques.
