Job Description

About Sourcing Connections and the Role

Sourcing Connections is seeking a Supply Chain Director to lead the next phase of transformation for a fast-growing, multi-site trading business operating in a commodity-linked market. This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and requires a leader with over 10 years of relevant experience.

Role Mandate and Transformation Focus

The Supply Chain Director will assume full ownership of procurement, logistics, and warehousing across the company's hub-and-spoke network, which includes three main sites and additional satellite locations. This role involves modernizing both the physical and informational flow of goods, transitioning the business from monthly dashboards and manual checks to real-time visibility. The organization is also undergoing a migration from SAP to Microsoft Dynamics, requiring leadership in this digital shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and redesign the balance between in-house and 3PL/4PL operations for fleet and warehousing within the initial months.
  • Integrate Logistics and Procurement Managers into a unified, high-performing function.
  • Establish safety stock policies for commodity-price-indexed products and reduce slow-moving or dead stock.
  • Lead the transition from monthly reporting to real-time dashboards and portals.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and commercial teams to reduce customer response times and support the annual sales plan.
  • Develop a lead-supplier and backup-supplier strategy to mitigate geopolitical and port disruption risks.
  • Formulate a comprehensive supply chain strategy, including operating model, governance, and digital roadmap, for executive approval within 12 months.
  • Ensure compliance with evolving Saudi Arabian regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the systems and capability budget, and oversee CAPEX cases for warehousing, subject to executive approval.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a hands-on, commercially minded supply chain leader who has operated in complex, multi-site environments. The ideal candidate is comfortable owning both strategy and execution, and can bring structure and digital rigor to a business prepared for scaling.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in complex, multi-site operational environments.
  • Strong general ERP fluency is required; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is beneficial but not essential.
  • Proven ability to build leaner operating models and lead integrated teams.
  • Capacity to provide real-time insights and support to commercial teams.
