KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) delivers comprehensive solutions across the entire asset lifecycle, encompassing licensed process technologies, advisory services, technical expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions for optimizing assets. KBR is seeking a Safety Officer to join their team in Makkah, specifically covering locations such as Rabigh and Makkah. This full-time role focuses on ensuring worker safety within Oil & Gas Facilities.
Role Overview
The Safety Officer is responsible for conducting safety inspections of equipment, tools, and working conditions to uphold the safety standards for personnel engaged in Oil & Gas Facilities. This position plays a critical role in preventing accidents and ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment, tools, and working conditions, including safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and other tools, to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
- Replace equipment and tools that do not meet established safety standards.
- Observe work crews to identify and report any non-compliance with safety precautions, such as the failure to use personal protective equipment like goggles or rubber gloves.
- Examine the conditions of ditches and tunnels, recommending necessary bracing to prevent cave-ins and protect workers.
- Investigate accidents to determine their root causes and develop effective preventive measures.
- Provide instruction to workers on the proper use of safety equipment and safe work methods.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety procedures and regulations.
- Promote and encourage the reporting of unsafe acts and conditions among staff.
- Comply with all Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) procedures before and during work activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in Oil & Gas maintenance with a High School diploma, or a minimum of 6 years of experience in Oil & Gas maintenance with a Diploma.
- Strong technical understanding of maintenance jobs as they relate to safety.
- Well-organized and proactive approach to work.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills, particularly within large organizations.
- Demonstrated maturity of judgment under pressure and the ability to effectively resolve problems.
- Strategic management skills.
Work Details
This is a full-time position based in the Makkah region, covering cities such as Rabigh and Makkah. The salary for this role will be disclosed during the recruitment process. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of relevant experience.
