About the Role

SorsX is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is responsible for managing the local purchasing cycle, from requisition to delivery, to ensure a continuous supply of materials, packaging, equipment, and services from suppliers within Saudi Arabia. The specialist will focus on securing items at the right quality, cost, and payment terms, ensuring timely delivery for production, warehouses, and sales operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and onboard local suppliers for raw materials, packaging, finished goods, equipment, and services, verifying their capacity to meet order requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, tracking their performance on price, quality, delivery, and service.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery times, and specifications to achieve target costs and extended credit periods.
• Obtain and compare quotations, evaluate samples, and prepare shortlists with clear recommendations.
• Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders through the ERP or procurement system, adhering to company approval procedures.
• Follow up on orders until delivery, resolving any delays, shortages, or quality issues with suppliers.
• Verify that supplier invoices and delivery notes match purchase orders and comply with Saudi tax invoice requirements before submission to Finance.
• Coordinate with Finance on payment schedules, supplier balances, and aging, and reconcile supplier statements.
• Collaborate with Production, Warehousing, and Planning to understand requirements and maintain optimal stock levels, preventing shortages and excess inventory.
• Work with Quality and R&D on specifications, samples, and approval of new materials and suppliers.
• Report regularly to the Procurement Manager on spend, savings, supplier performance, and potential risks.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate commercial terms effectively.
• Proficiency in using ERP or procurement systems for purchase order processing.
• Strong understanding of purchasing cycles and supply chain dynamics.

• Ensuring on-time delivery from suppliers.
• Managing average supplier payment days efficiently.
• Minimizing stock-outs caused by procurement issues.
• Maintaining purchase order accuracy and compliance.
• Monitoring and improving supplier quality performance.
• Ensuring timeliness of reporting.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requiring coordination with various internal departments and external suppliers to maintain operational efficiency.
