ACCOUNTANT GENERAL

About the Role

alfanar is seeking a General Accountant to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves bookkeeping and monitoring accounting transactions, with a focus on ensuring accuracy and compliance across various financial areas. The position is suitable for candidates with 0-1 year of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise supplier invoice processing and ensure 3-way matching accuracy.
• Verify invoices for tax and policy compliance.
• Oversee timely vendor payments and manage vendor inquiries.
• Monitor accruals, prepayments, and ensure expenses align with accounting periods.
• Reconcile accounts payable sub-ledger with vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee customer invoicing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contracts.
• Evaluate customer creditworthiness and manage receivables to minimize bad debt.
• Implement collection procedures and resolve overdue payment issues.
• Reconcile customer accounts and analyze aging reports.
• Manage accounting for fixed assets, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and prevent inventory shrinkage.
• Track and verify company assets periodically.
• Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate transaction recording.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial statements per IFRS and assist with external audits.
• Support budget preparation, monitor financial performance, and identify risks.
• Improve accounting processes for efficiency and compliance with local regulations.

• HR Proficiency: Obtain updated soft and technical skills relevant to the job and develop a career path plan.
• Delivery: Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets according to schedules, utilizing resources effectively within cost and time constraints. Provide periodic reports on deviations and task execution.
• Problem-Solving: Resolve related problems that arise and escalate complex operational issues.
• Quality: Ensure quality requirements are met to develop effective quality control and processes, including specifications for products, processes, or related activities.
• Business Process Improvements: Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities where possible.
• Compliance: Comply with relevant policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Health, Safety, and Environment: Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within the defined work area to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Experience Required

Candidates should have 0-5 year of experience in a relevant accounting role.
