ASSISTANT CONSULTANT PEDIATRIC HEMATOLOGY / ONCOLOGY📣 Job Ad

About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking an Assistant Consultant, Pediatric Hematology / Oncology. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will assist in providing comprehensive medical care within the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology field and supervise interns and residents, operating in strict adherence to current medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and hospital policies.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Assist Consultants in delivering patient care and management in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, aligning with the Hospital's medical care standards.
• Conduct patient assessments, examinations, and compile case histories; assist in diagnosis and management according to established diagnostic manuals.
• Register detailed medical histories, perform thorough physical examinations, and formulate patient management plans for Consultant review.
• Record Consultant's orders, progress notes, and other necessary documentation for outpatients.
• Provide rotational on-call coverage for the specialty during evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Prepare for and participate in Consultant and specialist ward rounds, documenting findings in medical records.
• Follow up on investigation results for outpatients and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
• Attend specialty clinics and outpatient clinics, and contribute to the on-call schedule as required.

Academic and Research Contributions

• Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows as assigned.
• Stay informed of the latest techniques and developments in the area of specialization, implementing them selectively to enhance technical standards.
• Participate actively in the educational activities and training programs of the department.
• Engage in national and international medical conferences.
• Contribute to clinical, basic, and translational research projects and publish papers in accordance with Research Advisory Council Policy.

Administrative Duties

• Undertake administrative duties as assigned by the Section Head or Chairman of the department.
• Participate in all mandatory departmental activities and serve on departmental and Hospital committees when required.
• Assist the department in developing and implementing practices that optimize resource utilization within the department and across the Hospital.

Required Experience and Professional Conduct

• A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a relevant medical field, specifically Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
• Demonstrated ability to provide medical care and supervise junior medical staff effectively.
• Commitment to abiding by current Hospital and medical staff bylaws, all relevant rules, regulations, and policies, and staying updated on any changes.
• Active participation in self and others’ education, training, and development.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position located at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh. The role requires participation in a rotational on-call schedule, which includes coverage during evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays. Salary details for this position are not disclosed.
