About the Opportunity

Salt is seeking a Senior Azure Architect for a permanent, full-time position based in Riyadh. This role is central to leading the design and delivery of secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized Azure solutions for enterprise and banking customers. The successful candidate will assume end-to-end ownership of cloud solution architecture, operating in customer-facing environments and leading complex cloud architecture engagements from strategy and design through to delivery.

Role Scope and Impact

The Senior Azure Architect will be responsible for the comprehensive architecture of cloud solutions. This includes critical areas such as landing zone design, governance frameworks, hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity strategies, workload migration and modernization, security and compliance, and robust business continuity and disaster recovery plans. The position requires technical leadership throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial design phases to implementation and operational transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end Azure cloud solution architecture for assigned customer engagements.
• Design secure, scalable, and highly available Azure environments, including landing zones, subscription structures, networking, identity, security, monitoring, and governance.
• Translate business and technical requirements into architecture decisions, High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), reference designs, and implementation roadmaps.
• Lead design discussions across migration, modernization, hybrid cloud, multi-cloud integration, backup, disaster recovery, and resilience.
• Work closely with delivery teams to validate build approaches, review technical configurations, and support issue and risk resolution.
• Ensure architectures align with enterprise security, compliance, and operational standards, particularly for banking and regulated environments.
• Support technical workshops, customer presentations, architecture walkthroughs, and steering discussions.
• Contribute to effort estimates, technical proposals, Bill of Materials (BoM) inputs, design assumptions, and solution dependencies where required.
• Guide automation and Infrastructure as Code adoption using appropriate tools and reusable patterns.
• Mentor engineers and architects while helping to establish repeatable cloud architecture best practices.

Technical Leadership and Mentorship

This role requires a proactive approach to technical leadership, involving close collaboration with delivery teams to ensure architectural integrity and successful implementation. The Senior Azure Architect will play a part in fostering a culture of best practices, guiding the adoption of automation and Infrastructure as Code, and providing mentorship to other engineers and architects within the organization.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant Azure architecture role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate comfort and proficiency in customer-facing environments, with a proven ability to lead complex cloud architecture engagements from initial strategy through to successful delivery.
