About the Cards Portfolio Specialist Role

The role is critical in driving growth across key performance indicators such as ENR, spend, authorization, activation, utilization, and balance build. The specialist will utilize advanced data analytics, build merchant partnerships, and employ lifecycle management tools to enhance customer engagement and maximize portfolio performance for sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze credit card portfolio trends and develop strategic initiatives to improve activation, usage, and customer retention.
  • Design and implement programs to grow the credit card portfolio in alignment with established business targets.
  • Lead end-to-end campaign management across various channels to stimulate customer engagement, increase spend, and build balances.
  • Support the conceptualization and execution of credit card installment plans, including payment structures, sales strategies, and revenue optimization.
  • Create and manage lifecycle campaigns and customer engagement programs, ensuring effective communication and measurable impact on portfolio performance.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure the seamless execution of campaigns and offers.
  • Optimize portfolio performance through sophisticated segmentation, targeted strategies, and the delivery of personalized offers.
  • Provide comprehensive execution support for campaign rollouts, including diligent tracking and performance reporting.
  • Ensure campaign objectives and KPIs are aligned with overarching business goals, while maintaining compliance with internal approvals and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the financial performance of the credit card portfolio, including accurate forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Drive improvements in critical KPIs such as plastic activation rate, spend activation rate, spend per card, card utilization, ENR per card, installment sales, credit limit management, and customer engagement/activation metrics.
  • Identify and develop new merchant and partnership opportunities to enhance the value proposition for cardholders.
  • Ensure the timely execution of all planned initiatives to achieve portfolio growth and retention targets.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Mandatory expertise in cards cross-border payments, e-commerce, and merchant partnerships.
  • Proven experience in campaign execution, customer segmentation, and performance analytics.
  • A minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in banking, payments, or consulting, with a significant focus on credit card portfolio optimization, digital engagement, and product management. Regional experience is highly preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA or an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Cards P&L, key revenue drivers, loyalty programs, and effective campaign management strategies.
  • Fluent command of English is essential; Arabic fluency is preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful client interaction, relationship building, and effective stakeholder management.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required; knowledge of project management tools is considered a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the proven ability to translate data-driven insights into actionable strategies.

  • Monitor and manage the Management Contractor's procurement activities, programs, and package awards, ensuring strict adherence to Schedule 28 procurement procedures and all project governance requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate a commercial team of approximately 20 individuals, including Commercial Leads and wider commercial staff, providing leadership, direction, and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with Design Management teams to ensure the timely release of Information for Tender (IFT) in accordance with approved design release schedules.
  • Oversee supply chain engagement processes, including Expressions of Interest (EOIs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs), market sounding, contractor assessments, interviews, and site visits.
  • Identify, assess, and prequalify suitable contractors and specialist subcontractors for up to 75 diverse procurement packages.
  • Lead detailed commercial tender evaluations, manage tender clarification meetings, and conduct commercial negotiations, reviewing submissions, contractual qualifications, deviations, and commercial risks.
  • Prepare comprehensive tender reports, governance papers, and executive presentations for internal approvals.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive commercial and procurement experience on major construction, infrastructure, or giga-projects.
  • Significant experience within Management Contracting and FIDIC-based procurement environments.
