About the Role

Almarai is seeking an experienced Senior Packaging Technologist to join its corporate team in Riyadh. This role is crucial for driving packaging innovation across Almarai’s diverse product portfolio. The successful candidate will lead the development, evaluation, and implementation of packaging solutions, ensuring the effective introduction of new packaging specifications throughout the business and its supplier network. This position also involves supporting New Product Development (NPD) initiatives and serving as the Packaging Development Lead for promotional packaging projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the introduction and implementation of new packaging specifications across Almarai and its supplier base.
• Plan, execute, and report on packaging trials to confirm optimal performance and feasibility.
• Provide technical expertise in areas of packaging design, material selection, and functional performance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including NPD, Procurement, Quality, and Operations.
• Identify and resolve packaging-related challenges, including those related to logistics and supply chain constraints.
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in packaging technologies and sustainability practices.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging, Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field.
• Professional certification or diploma in Packaging Technology is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in packaging development and implementation, preferably within the FMCG, food, or beverage industry.
• Strong experience in conducting and managing packaging trials.
• Solid knowledge of packaging materials, design principles, and supply chain considerations.
• Excellent communication skills with a strong command of English, both written and spoken.
• A proven track record of delivering results and effectively managing stakeholders.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role requires close collaboration with various internal departments and external suppliers.
