About the Role

UL Solutions is seeking a highly experienced Certification Program Specialist to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This senior role requires deep technical and regulatory subject matter expertise in the Saudi Arabia Saleem Program (Saudi Product Safety Program). The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on knowledge of SASO schemes, portals, and platforms, conformity assessment schemes and operations, and the implementation of ISO/IEC 17065 within SASO-accredited Certification Bodies. This position serves as a critical knowledge anchor, driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting business growth initiatives within the Saudi Arabian market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the Certification Program, including the development and upkeep of policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, checklists, and all necessary compliance documentation.
  • Act as the primary Regulatory and Program Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Saudi SALEEM and SASO certification schemes, continuously monitoring regulatory changes and ensuring timely updates to certification processes and documentation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to ISO/IEC 17065 standards, encompassing impartiality, robust risk management, effective management review processes, and overall audit readiness.
  • Manage and maintain all accreditations, regulatory notifications, and designations for Certification Offices.
  • Oversee the entire certification lifecycle, including initial certification, handling updates, renewals, surveillance activities, re-testing, and laboratory qualification where applicable.
  • Monitor program performance metrics and support the development of comprehensive reporting, dashboards, and essential operational tools.
  • Serve as a key knowledge resource, providing essential training and support to operations teams, follow-up services, sales departments, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Support the creation of sales and service enablement materials and actively contribute as an SME in customer engagements, marketing activities, and webinars.
  • Contribute to business expansion initiatives by leveraging expertise and market insights.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, actively participate in regulatory committees, and represent UL Solutions in relevant external initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, with a preference for Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunication disciplines.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience within the Saudi Arabian General Merchandise (GMA) and product compliance market.
  • Strong working knowledge and practical application of ISO/IEC 17065 and its implementation within SASO-accredited Certification Bodies.
  • Solid understanding of SASO Conformity Body (CB) and Energy Efficiency (EE) laboratory compliance requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of various SASO programs, including SABER P-CoC, Shipment CoC, SASO EX, SIRC, SASO EER, SQM, and SASO COC.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing key SASO platforms such as SABER, Maneh, Jeem1, Wasif, E-SASO Services, and SLS.
  • Proven ability to develop comprehensive SOPs, procedures, and compliance documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience acting as an SME and knowledge anchor, supporting audits, contributing to business expansion efforts, and engaging effectively with regulatory bodies.
