About the Chief Accountant Role

Qawim for Professional Consulting is seeking a Chief Accountant to join a real estate company based in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience to oversee accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for the comprehensive management of accounting functions. This includes ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulations, providing critical financial insights to support business decisions, and leading the accounting team. The role involves a wide range of duties to maintain the integrity and efficiency of financial processes.

  • Oversee daily accounting operations and financial transactions.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare tax and zakat-related reports and fulfill associated requirements.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Lead and supervise the accounting team.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position must possess a strong educational background and relevant professional experience. A proven track record in accounting, particularly within the real estate sector, is essential for success in this role.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Previous experience in the real estate sector is required.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
  • Familiarity with Saudi tax and zakat regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Professional certifications such as SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are preferred.
