Job Description

About the Role

Siddiqi & Co is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires a professional with over 10 years of experience to lead the financial strategy of a renowned retail group with a significant international presence. The CFO will be responsible for strengthening the financial architecture, including systems, controls, and capital discipline, across multiple markets and entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the full financial strategy for a multi-country retail operation, translating board-level growth targets into fundable, market-specific financial plans that account for currency exposure, local tax regimes, and repatriation constraints.
  • Lead consolidated, IFRS-compliant group reporting across multiple entities and currencies, with full ownership of the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring financial statements are always board-ready and audit-ready.
  • Act as the primary executive counterpart to external auditors (Big 4 or equivalent), tax authorities, and regulatory bodies across all operating jurisdictions, personally defending financial figures.
  • Structure and negotiate the group's capital stack directly, including term loans, working capital lines, trade finance facilities, and any equity or investor funding, leveraging established banking and investor relationships.
  • Build and own the treasury function end-to-end, including FX hedging policy, intercompany funding flows, cash pooling across entities, and liquidity planning to maintain group solvency through seasonal and geopolitical volatility.
  • Design the internal control environment from first principles, benchmarked to Big 4 audit standards, to ensure the business can withstand due diligence from lenders, investors, or acquirers without requiring remediation.
  • Evaluate and financially model new market entry, store network expansion, and major capital expenditure decisions, presenting recommendations directly to the CEO and board with clear risk-adjusted return analysis.
  • Build a finance organization structured for a multi-country business (regional controllers, group FP&A, group treasury) and develop at least one or two direct reports capable of stepping into a CFO role within a few years.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial leadership within a large-scale retail or multi-market operation. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven ability to manage complex financial landscapes and drive robust financial performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a senior financial leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing financial operations across multiple international markets.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS compliance and international tax regimes.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and financial institutions.
