The Role of Civil Engineer (Pavement)

Egis is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer specializing in pavement design to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on the design and development of pavement systems specifically for airport projects. The ideal candidate will possess a detail-oriented approach, strong analytical capabilities, and proven expertise in airport pavement design, contributing to complex infrastructure projects from concept through construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and analyze airport pavement systems, including runways, taxiways, and aprons, using industry-standard software and methodologies.
• Develop detailed pavement design specifications and construction documentation in compliance with FAA, ICAO, and local Saudi Arabian standards.
• Conduct geotechnical analysis and coordinate with soil engineers to ensure optimal pavement performance and longevity.
• Prepare technical drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent).
• Perform structural analysis and modeling of pavement layers to determine thickness requirements and material specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
• Review and evaluate existing pavement conditions and recommend rehabilitation or reconstruction strategies.
• Ensure all designs meet regulatory requirements, safety standards, and project specifications.
• Participate in site inspections and provide technical support during construction phases.
• Maintain organized project documentation and ensure compliance with quality assurance protocols.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience as a Civil Engineer with a specialization in pavement design, specifically for airport projects.
• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a focus on pavement design.
• Strong analytical capabilities and a detail-oriented approach to design.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software and methodologies for pavement design.
• Familiarity with FAA, ICAO, and local Saudi Arabian standards for pavement design and construction.
• Competency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a collaborative project team, coordinating with various stakeholders including project managers, contractors, and soil engineers, and providing technical support during construction phases.
