About the Role
Norconsult Telematics is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position focuses on the design, build, and implementation of a scalable and secure private cloud platform. The role requires 2-5 years of experience and involves ensuring the platform is production-ready, standardized, and adheres to security and governance requirements.
Role Overview and Responsibilities
The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end design and implementation of private cloud infrastructure and container platforms. This includes defining architectures (HLD/LLD), building core platforms using VMware and OpenShift, and integrating with enterprise systems such as network, security, and ITSM. The role also involves enabling cloud capabilities like automation, self-service, and multi-tenancy, while defining standards for scalability, availability, and security, and ensuring designs align with Cyber Security and governance requirements.
- Deploying and configuring the VMware stack, including vSphere, vCenter, NSX-T, and vSAN.
- Implementing Disaster Recovery (DR) architecture and replication strategies.
- Designing and deploying cloud management components such as vRealize Automation (vRA), vRealize Orchestrator (vRO), and vRealize Operations (vROps).
- Designing and implementing automation workflows using vRO, Ansible, and APIs.
- Enabling self-service provisioning and service catalog functionalities, potentially via ServiceNow or vRA.
- Building templates, blueprints, and standardized deployment configurations.
Technical Expertise and Qualifications
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in OpenShift/Kubernetes architecture and administration is required. Proven expertise in container networking, CNI plugins, and multi-cluster connectivity is essential. Experience with CI/CD tools, automation frameworks like Ansible and Helm, and GitOps practices is also necessary.
Required Skills and Attributes
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are critical for this role. The ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams is also important. Proficiency in English is required, with Arabic being an added advantage.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role involves working with modern cloud technologies and requires a structured approach to platform development and management.
