About the Role

Amazon Saudi Arabia is seeking a Construction Manager to join its Engineering Team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves project and construction management for industrial developments, including new builds, retrofits, expansions, and program initiatives, from site selection through contract execution. The Construction Manager will serve as Amazon's direct interface with Developers and General Contractors, integrating construction efforts with other Amazon stakeholders responsible for equipping and operating Fulfillment Centers (FCs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage new construction projects for Fulfillment Centers, Sortation Centers (SCs), Delivery Stations (DSs), auxiliary buildings, and Quick Commerce shops (DC) across the MEATR region.
  • Oversee renovations and capacity improvements within existing facilities.
  • Advise on the impact of changes in schedule, costs, and permitting.
  • Support construction scope review and development with internal technical teams and operational customers.
  • Supervise multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from small renovations to large new facilities ($20M+).
  • Prepare reports, specifications, and technical analyses to define design requirements, equipment, and services.
  • Negotiate contracts and contract changes with developers and General Contractors, presenting formal documentation for approval.
  • Provide overall site management, coordination, planning, and specification of business proposals.
  • Assess project performance using Key Performance Indicators for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
  • Partner with teams managing base building transitions and turnover documentation.
  • Review designs and ongoing construction for conformance to current building specifications.
  • Critically review current design standards to identify value engineering and design enhancement opportunities.
  • Receive, review, and analyze proposed cost and time change requests from external project teams.
  • Review and guide internally requested changes for validity and impact, ensuring timely and cost-sensitive incorporation.
  • Lead or assist in negotiations with regulatory bodies and Authority Having Jurisdiction entities.
  • Ensure clear and transparent cross-team communication for all aspects of project delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in construction management, project management, or a related field.
  • Experience with industrial development projects, including new builds, retrofits, and expansions.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed reviews of job budgets and programs to resolve discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in managing facility network infrastructure implementation.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with internal customers, external stakeholders, and executive-level managers.

Work Environment and Team

The role is based in Riyadh, KSA, and requires 40-60% travel, both domestically and to other MEATR countries. The Construction Manager will work independently within the assigned regional area with minimal direction. Daily Responsibilities

Daily tasks include site validation, due diligence, risk analysis, design management, contract and cost negotiations, and stakeholder management. The Construction Manager will act as a Subject Matter Expert, providing guidance on technical solutions, cost impacts, and project safety risks. This role combines construction engineering, planning, project management, facilities management, and contract management.
