About the Role: Cost Director, Saudi National

Mace is seeking a Cost Director, Saudi National, to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires a professional with extensive experience in cost and commercial management, responsible for leading strategic cost initiatives and project delivery within a dynamic environment.

Project Context

The successful candidate will be involved in a significant project in the heart of Riyadh: a large multipurpose venue. This facility is designed for long-term use as a versatile hub, hosting a range of sports, entertainment, and community events.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility studies, cost planning, estimating, procurement strategy development, and contract selection to support project delivery.
• Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including prequalification, tendering, bid evaluation, contractor selection, and contract preparation.
• Oversee contract administration activities, such as approval of contracts, warranties, bonds, licenses, valuations, and formal execution documentation.
• Maintain accountability for cost management, cost control, cost reporting, post-contract reporting, and valuation services throughout project lifecycles.
• Direct the assessment and management of design change costs, contract awards, construction-related expenditures, client charges, and claims for delay and additional costs.
• Ensure effective contract close-out processes, including practical completion, defect rectification, final completion certification, and agreement of final accounts.
• Lead strategic planning, performance improvement initiatives, and the delivery of cost management services, driving KPIs, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Manage and develop high-performing teams while promoting collaboration, leadership excellence, and the proactive management of carbon reduction and net-zero objectives.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in cost management or commercial management on major capital projects.
• At least 10 years of this experience must be in senior leadership roles.
• Proven experience in leading large multidisciplinary cost teams.
• Demonstrated ability to report effectively to clients and government entities.
