About the Role

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires a professional with a background in Real Estate and a strong foundation in Quantity Surveying, ideally gained through complex infrastructure or real estate projects. The role involves independent work while also fostering strong team collaboration and upholding high professional standards.

Role Context

As a Cost Manager, you will be instrumental in delivering successful projects by managing costs effectively. You will work with clients and stakeholders, contributing to the company's capabilities in programme, project, cost, asset, and commercial management. Turner & Townsend is a global professional services company with a significant presence across various sectors, including real estate, infrastructure, and energy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
  • Execute pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties.
  • Conduct estimating and cost planning, culminating in the production and presentation of final cost plans.
  • Manage tendering and procurement processes, including pre-qualification, tender list creation, preliminaries, tender analysis, and compilation of contractual documents.
  • Address post-contract cost variances and manage the change control process.
  • Prepare and present monthly post-contract cost reports to clients.
  • Negotiate and agree final accounts.
  • Lead cost management teams where appropriate, ensuring accountability for all responsibilities.
  • Support the development and pursuit of new business opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in similar roles.
  • Proficiency in CostX is essential.
  • Good knowledge of the construction industry and technical matters.
  • Professional membership, such as MRICS, is advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote location.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires an individual who can work independently and collaboratively within a team, contributing to a professional consultancy environment. Experience working for main contractors is also considered.
