About the Role

Applus+ Asia Middle East and Africa is seeking a Data Manager Draftsman Monitoring to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role reports directly to the Survey Monitoring Manager and is central to the Riyadh Metro Project. The Data Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management, validation, analysis, and reporting of survey and structural monitoring data, ensuring its integrity, accuracy, traceability, and timely delivery to support critical engineering decisions, risk management, and project compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all survey and monitoring databases and data repositories, including the collection, organization, validation, and archiving of observations from both manual and automated monitoring systems.
  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of monitoring data records, and maintain secure backup and recovery procedures for all project monitoring data.
  • Process and analyze various types of movement data, including settlement, deformation, displacement, vibration, convergence, and structural movement.
  • Monitor data trends against established project alert, alarm, and action thresholds, identifying anomalies and escalating significant findings to the Monitoring Manager.
  • Support investigations into unusual movements or monitoring events.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc monitoring reports, and develop dashboards, graphs, and trend analysis presentations.
  • Generate movement summaries and key performance indicators, producing comprehensive reports for clients, consultants, and project management teams.
  • Administer monitoring software platforms such as Leica GeoMoS, Trimble 4D Control, Power BI, SQL Databases, and GIS Platforms.
  • Monitor data transmission and the performance of automated monitoring systems, coordinating with IT teams regarding database and server requirements.
  • Verify data quality and compliance with project standards, implementing data validation and quality control procedures.
  • Maintain audit trails and monitoring records, ensuring compliance with all contractual reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in survey and monitoring data management.
  • Experience on metro, railway, tunneling, or other large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with automated monitoring systems and managing large datasets.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Expertise in Power BI and dashboard development.
  • Proficiency in SQL Database Management.
  • Experience with Leica GeoMoS or Trimble 4D Control.
  • Familiarity with GIS Applications.
  • Strong data analysis and statistical reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
